The study examines the modern family functions and role of day centers and social programs in the performance of education and socialization of the family. Modern society transforms both the individual and the family, changes that are felt both in the functions they have, family and the partners institutions. The study summarizes the arguments about family and about day centers as options for institutions involved in education and socialization. Child education isn’t an abstract concept and parentage isn’t something that we all now. The modern society assumes that parentage and child education are learned and also, same of the family function are transformed in objectives for institution (education, main objective of a day center). Also, the study concludes recommendations for good practices in child education.
