Violence has always been present between people, within families or communities, in some societies being actually seen as normal behavior. Violence has been learned over time, has been passed on from generation to generation, causing a great amount of damage and victims. No matter the social level one has, his or her economic status, religious beliefs or intellectual level, violence can appear in any environment. This article covers the different forms of manifestation of domestic violence. It is very important for people to be aware and well informed about this subject, so that they will know how to act if ever faced with a form of domestic violence and what they should expect from their violent partners. The article also describes the different services that the victims should turn to for help, for protection and to recover from the damages they have suffered.
