The subject of this paper is relevant to the field of study of violence between intimate partners. The article will address the issue of the woman being the victim of physical abuse within the heterosexual couples. At the same time, this research topic arouses the interest of both theorists and practitioners in the field of social assistance. The existing social reality in Romania, in the last two years, also had repercussions in terms of intimate violence. During the COVID-19 pandemic, acts of marital violence have registered an increase, as the social context has led victims to spend more time with the aggressors. This scientific approach wants to provide an overview of the implications of physical abuse on women in the couple relationship approximately two years after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, the causes and effects of physical aggression on the female victim will be analyzed, as well as the reasons why these women do not make the decision to give up the dysfunctional couple relationship.
