The roots of violence are old. Violence was probably a part of human existence. The Old Testament starts with a fratricide. Cain kills Abel. The New Testament ends with martyrdom and execution: that of Christ. From the fratricide of Cain the violence has been known and transmitted in writing, but the victims left an invisible trait. Violence is present in all countries irresponsive to social-economical conditions, religious convictions or cultural level.
On one hand, the article deals with the major identity transformation (behavioural, psychological, social and ethic) which the prisoner has once he entered prison and, on the other hand, with the help of interview we discover factors, actions and relevant events from his life which led to murder.

Keywords: violence, identity transformation
