The objective if this article is to examine the impact of the requirement to accredit social services on the geographical distribution, type and beneficiary categories of service development in Timis county. It also examines the quality insurance procedures and the organizational perspective as applied by two of the most successful services according to accreditation standards and as related by interviewed managers of social services. The research uses some quantitative, but mostly qualitative methods (case studies using two social service providers, document analysis and interviews with social service managers in Timis county.
