Starting from the ancient question about justice between generations, the purpose of this book is to analyze how different welfare states respond to age-related social risks from a justice-based perspective. “The Generational Welfare Contract” is the result of a 6 six years collaborative interdisciplinary research project finished in 2017, that starts from the emergent issues of the ageing societies and combine theoretical assumptions about the welfare state with the research conclusions extracted from solid comparative empirical data, that finally rises important questions and ideas over the social policies and political measures that should be taken in order to expose the possibilities of supporting the egalitarian principles in an ageing society.
