 Violence Against Elderly Women

The present article „Violence against elderly women", represents a study that focuses on violence against the elderly, especially against the elderly women. The paper aims to highlight information and types of violence in the life of an elderly person, important characteristics of the victims and the portrait of the aggressors. In order to provide a clearer vision of the field, with the help of specialized works, types such as: physical, psychological, emotional, financial and economic, verbal violence are described. The online questionnaire applied to students presents the female gender as predominant for elderly victims, and the male gender as predominant in the portrait of aggressors, among those known to the respondents. Based on the answers received from the respondents, general portrait characteristics are materialized regarding the victims of violence but also regarding their aggressors. At the end of the study, the proposed objectives: identifying the predominant gender of elderly victims of violence; Identifying the characteristics of both victims and aggressors, such as: victims are predominantly female from both rural and urban areas, and aggressors are in most cases young adults who are known to the elderly victims.
