Contemporary society evolution highlights the fact that, in spite of intensification of interventions of social control factors in the preventing crime activity, we witness an aggravation and amplification of the violent acts and aggressiveness targeted against life and physical integrity of people who producing huge amounts of human victims and material prejudices generate feelings of fear and social insecurity.
Representing a serious social problem with destructive and demoralizing consequences amid individuals and social groups, the crimes committed by the use of violence stand out by the fact that is highly dangerous at the level of society due to the use of force and physical constraint over people resulting in material and moral prejudices over victims, and most of the times beyond recall. Having a complex etiology – within being more elements involved – the author of violence, the violent action and violence victim – the violent crime is sensitively influenced, in the transition time of the Romanian society, by the decrease of specialized institutions efficiency for social control, by the dissolution of community social control and social solidarity networks, as well as by the diminution of the prestige and efficiency of the justice and police in preventing crime and severe sanction for the perpetrators and the effective, moral and material repair over victims.
Among the factors that lead toward different types of crime we can also list poverty of the population and economic distress, lack of education, immorality and violence installed in the Romanian society, the excessive and frequent alcohol consumerism, the fatal entourage of street groups, family disarray, etc.
