This paper addresses a current topic in childhood research, specifically children's well-being, with a particular focus on institutionalized children. This group represents a significant subject for scientific investigation, as they face specific vulnerabilities and needs that frequently place them at the center of social studies. This study examines the perceptions of institutionalized children regarding their own well-being. Through semi-structured interviews conducted with 15 children aged between 13 and 17 years, the research aims to highlight how these children understand and experience well-being, the factors associated with their sense of happiness, and the needs they perceive for change. The findings provide valuable insights into the subjective dimensions of well-being, reflecting aspects such as education, health, material conditions, family relationships, and emotional balance, while also contributing to the development of interventions tailored to the specific needs of these children.
