With the change of the governance regime (the transition from the communist to the democratic regime) in Romania, there have been significant changes in the field of social work: from the signaling by all means (administrative, journalistic, street, political etc.), of the existing social problems, until the reconstruction of the social work system. The material below is an analysis of the content of articles in the national press (România liberă and Adevărul) to identify the image reflected in the press on the social issues and the evolution of the social work reconsolidation, immediately after the 1990 Revolution. By analyzing published press articles between December 1989 and December 1990, it is desired to identify the social categories that were the subject of the articles, the social problems that pressed the society during the mentioned period, which determined the reconstruction of the social work system in our country. At the same time, the aim was to highlight the way in which the national press presents the steps taken to re-establish the social work institutions.
