Supervision is the essence of probation and it finds it’s applicability in cases where the court of justice imposes a sentence obedient to probation, such as: suspended sentence under supervision, provisional release under judicial control, supervised freedom, suspended sentencing, community work. Through sentence of obedience and probation some conditions are imposed to the convict, they constitute the object of supervision of probation services (Abraham et al., 2001, 92). The work domain with offenders who suffer from mental disorders is very complex in which the probation officer's role is very important to prevent the relapse of the beneficiary. The probation officer through supervision should recognize the signs of mental disorders when the beneficiary does not persist in his work, is isolated from social point of view, it’s behavior can be labeled as weird, has tics, slightly panics when he encounters difficulties, consumes alcohol and becomes aggressive due to alcohol consumption, he totally refuses to cooperate with those around him or he ignores them. This paper, without exhaustive claims, tries to notice the importance and the role of the probation officer working with people who represent mental disorders. Identifying the needs of the supervised person and intervention can help stop their relapse.
