This paper aims to explore the complex psycho-socio-emotional landscape of motherhood during the crucial first six months postpartum. The transition into motherhood is often accompanied by profound psychological, social, and emotional changes, changes that can have both positive and challenging impacts on new mothers. To better understand these dynamics, this study focuses on the role of social support in alleviating potential negative effects associated with motherhood, such as postpartum depression, anxiety, isolation or physical issues. The paper also investigates which are the factors that are influencing the support received from partners, extended family and the community and how this support contributes to the emotional and psychological health of new mothers. The nature of this support might include emotional reassurance, informational support providing practical help, like childcare and housework or financial support. The factors contributing to each type of support will be described and analyzed throughout the study.
