Our society is facing, in an increasingly way, an aging population. While some countries are taking measures in this regard, Romania lags seriously behind. As part of this research, we asked about the essential points in improving the image and the standard of life of the elderly in Romanian society. To test our working hypothesis, we mobilized mixed methodology. Data analysis highlighted that the promotion of a positive image of aging is based on three complementary pillars – empathy, appreciation and intergenerational reciprocity. Moreover, “the fan of active aging policies” developed by ourselves following the analysis of the results, reveals a variety of initiatives which project the image of the Romanian adult in a perspective of integral development.
