 Specialized Intervention for Protecting Victims of Domestic Violence

Background: Domestic violence is an extremely complex phenomenon that affects a person on a long term basis in all physical, social, economic and psychological plans. The person who is prevented from exercising his fundamental rights and freedoms is a victim of violence. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the consequences of domestic violence against abused women and children in order to obtain social reintegration by providing legal assistance, psychological counseling and social work. Methodology: qualitative research design was used to conduct semi-structured interviews that focused on the following aspects: domestic violence forms experienced, psychological implications, knowledge concerning legal aspects, psychological counseling services and social work. Results and/or practice implications: The results of the survey showed the consequences of violence against victims, the need for psychological counseling of victims of domestic violence, as well as the categories of services and institutions to which victims of domestic violence may appeal.
