Initially, case management was developed from the practice of social work in Great Britain as a social worker method of work dealing with people who needed care for a long period of time such as elderly people and mental disabled people. Nowadays, the case management generalised as a practice of work in social work due to the social changes that generated a growth of resources and services need for certain category of vulnerable people, and due to the development of social work theory and practice and of services diversity offered by social work.
