Risks in social work are a complex issue. Romanian legislation tackles this issue in relation with social assistance benefits system (risk of poverty, social exclusion risk), social services system (risk of marginalization, risk of social exclusion, social risk), integrated social assistance measures (risk of young people leaving the child protection system becoming homeless, risk of social exclusion, risks of health, risks of old age), institutional construction of the national social assistance system (social exclusion risk), and financing social assistance (risk of social exclusion, social risk). However, the range of risks subjected to social work is, by far, wider. This paper details the risks circumscribed to social work, in general, and to child and family, to people with special needs, and to the elderly, in particular, and points out the deficiencies of Law no. 231 of November 5, 2020 regarding risks in social work.
