Obstacles in developing homogeneous labor market in Romania

  • Eugen Blaga (Reader, Ph.D., Universitatea din Bucureşti)

The main problem of Romania is to ensure human resources who are qualitatively and quantitatively adequate to the demand determined by the economic growth pace and technological development directions. The obstacles for homogenous labor market development are the major discrepancies at local and regional level related to the labor force educational competence level, low occupational and geographical mobility, poor transport and housing infrastructure. The EU integration involves a rapid process of economic and social gaps and this paper summarizes a series of key action areas.
