The study aims the social workers professional roles in the area of disabled people protection (broker, advocate, educator, mediator, case manager, counsellor, agent of social change) bringing arguments against reductionist approaches which tend to limit the attributions of this specialist in administrating certain categorical benefits. By transforming accordingly these roles and its specific attributions, the social worker contributes to find individualised answers which can promote changes at the level of disabled person and at the level of environment regarding chance equality and participation.
