Correctional systems, as part of contemporary life, are institutions that manage a heterogeneous category of persons, with a well-defined purpose at the level of each society, for the social reintegration of persons who commit crimes. In the context of globalization, which involves, among other things, the adaptation of probation systems to international criminal policies, we are witnessing a diversification of the human profile, both in terms of personal particularities and as a social manifestation. Addiction, seen as a social phenomenon, has become a scourge that grabs people, contexts, ways of solving problems, consequences and requires specialized tools of approach to fill the gaps that led to its installation. Combined with crime, addiction becomes a stronger factor in society, the latter having to develop and implement optimal mechanisms for managing both factors. An adequate management of addiction in correctional systems will imprint the pace of approach to each case according to its particularities and bring a surplus value to the human personality for both parties, beneficiaries of the system and active workers within it.
