Abstract. The practical training of students from Social Work study programs has a great impact on their future professional performance if we only think about the high degree of involvement of Social Workers in field activities. The way students’ practical training is organized ensures a perfect balance between their knowledge, skills and values and ensures the path to their transformation into real practitioners. Our paper presents details regarding the planning and conducting of practical training activities for a Social Work study program. In the second part of the paper, we discuss the results obtained in our analysis based on the contribution of specialists and students involved in the practical training activities. Our closing remarks focus on recommendations for improvements in the way we plan, organize and carry out practical training programs, responding in this way to the opportunities and challenges in this field.
