This study represents a synthesis of Leonardo da Vinci pilot project, "ADEM" / 147176/2008 - Community Action Program on vocational training. We chose this presentation because we believe that the project, by its objectives, structure, methodology and results can be considered a teaching qualitative research. The project goal was to meet the need for training in an interdisciplinary field, that of assisting and caring for elderly with dementia. The main objective of the project was to develop a standard for European qualification for work of skilled personnel patients with dementia. Expertise of professionals in the five countries participating in the project (Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Spain) was seized to develop a matrix model of the training, skills-oriented. The standard model can be developed and applied at European, national peculiarities with respect. In fact, the main challenges and difficulties of standardization process of national differences just went on the institutional, educational, cultural systems. The following are presented, in the first part, the project summary, and then, process and results (with emphasis on the contribution of partners in Romania: Babes-Bolyai University and the Foundation for Elderly Care). For illustration, some results are presented as appendices. A direct consequence of the results of the project is to include an optional module of training in Social Gerontology Master Degree of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca. This module includes the following courses: "Old age psychiatry", "Communicating with older people with dementia", "Specific skills elderly care with dementia. European matrix model (ADEM)"
