Pediatric palliative care requires a holistic approach, designed to meet the complex needs of children with terminal chronic illnesses and their families. The present study, conducted in one of the few centers in Romania that offers such services, explores the essential role of social workers within interdisciplinary teams, highlighting their contribution to assessing psychosocial needs, facilitating access to community resources and supporting the family in making informed decisions regarding the child's care. The research has a qualitative exploratory nature and uses semi-structured interviews and open-ended questions to analyze the experiences of social workers and interdisciplinary team members, focusing on how their interventions contribute to the well-being of families with children with terminal chronic illnesses. The results clearly show that the integration of the family as an active participant in the care process is essential in the intervention, contributing to the improvement of the suffering of family members and increasing the quality of life of their children
