Introduction: The focus of the present study is to investigate the amount and intensity of burnout experienced by employees from two different departments: Human Resources Department and Technical Department from a multinational company. Method: The concept of burnout was determined according to the three dimensions of the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory measuring personal burnout, work related burnout and client related burnout. Our empirical research has been conducted based on the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI), assigned to a sample of 60 respondents: 32 females and 28 males. Result: There is a statistically significant difference which can be observed from the threshold p = .016 (p <0.05) indicating that the employees in the Human Resources Department (M = 2.23, SD = .81) and the employees in the Technical Department (M = 1.76, SD= .62) in relation to the level of burnout and the feeling towards the work performed, general fatigue and client related work. The significance threshold obtained, F (2.27) = 3.872, p = .033 indicates the validity of a significant difference between the age held and the level of burnout. Regarding emotional exhaustion between female respondents (M = 3.09, SD = .80) and male respondents (M = 2.38, SD = .78) there is a notable difference according to the data, p=0.01, p <0.05. Conclusions: Significant differences were identified between the Technical department and the Human Resources department, with higher values for the dimension that measured work-related burnout and the dimension that measured burnout syndrome on a personal aspect.
