Consilierea în asistență socială între habitus și adevăruri de protecție: o perspectivă fenomenologică și etică asupra întâlnirii dintre istorii tăcute și vulnerabilitatea socială [Social Work Counselling between Habitus and Protective Truths: A Phenomenological and Ethical Perspective on the Encounter between Silent Histories and Social Vulnerability]

he article explores how counselling in social work becomes a relational space where clients' habitus - understood as embodied social histories - meets protective truths, defined as narrative strategies to preserve dignity in contexts of vulnerability. Adopting a phenomenological and ethical perspective, the paper argues that social assessment transcends the mere collection of objective data, requiring a relational interpretation of fragmented stories, silences and hesitations. Habitus and protective truths are approached as indicators of invisible loyalties and psychosocial survival strategies rather than obstacles to truth. Based on theoretical literature and long-term professional experience, the article advocates for reconfiguring counselling practices towards ethical sensitivity, reflexive presence and respect for clients’ complex identities. This vision underlines the need for a delicate ethics that honors what remains unspoken as much as what is shared explicitly in the social support process.
