In this study, the author revisits the relationship between social work and asylum seekers, internally displaced people, and refugees (i.e., migrants) in a context transformed by war and at various levels: globally, in Europe, and in Romania. The analysis investigated the focus of social work for migrants at these three levels. The method used is the analysis of official documents and of articles and bookson issues such as adaptation of Romanian language education to meet the needs of migrants, challenges for both migrants and professional social workers, elements of good practice in social work for migrants, NGOs, role of professional social workers, skills of social workers working with migrants, state-supported integration programs, type of approach, and vulnerable groups.
