During the recent times social work in Romania acknowledged major accomplishments in the child protection area which are being materialized by the elaboration of action measurements which allow the solving of problems for children at risk with the aim to acknowledge and respect their rights.
Up to the present days the child protection system from our country had to act in two directions: on one hand, the system needed to solve the “inherited” problems which adamantly denied them (the abandoned children issue, the institutionalized children, the children with HIV/ AIDS, delinquents, etc.), and, on the other hand, to build strategies of development for child protection system which needed to correspond with other sets of acknowledged issues (child abuse, neglect, exploitation, child trafficking, infant prostitution, school abandonment, infant mortality, etc. )
