The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the quality of life of older people, highlighting numerous factors that reflect their well-being during this difficult period. Studies indicate a considerable decline in the quality of life among older adults during the pandemic, and when it comes to older adults in the social protection system, the data indicate an even more pronounced impact on their well-being. This study aims to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on older people, emphasizing the importance of personalized interventions and support programs to mitigate the negative effects on physical and mental health. The psychological and social dimensions of quality of life have also been negatively affected. Restrictions have intensified social isolation, increased feelings of loneliness and decreasing life satisfaction. Comorbidities have proven to be important predictors of quality-of-life deterioration, and the pandemic has exacerbated mental health problems, increasing levels of anxiety and depression. On the other hand, the use of effective coping strategies, such as maintaining social connections through technology, was associated with better quality of life outcomes. Resilience proved to be an essential factor in mitigating the negative effects of the pandemic. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions to improve quality of life among older adults, focusing on physical health, psychological well-being, social connections, and coping strategies.
