The stigma associated with mental illness continues to present a substantial obstacle to the well-being and social integration of affected individuals. Within social work services, this stigma significantly hampers the adaptation and integration processes of beneficiaries, frequently undermining the efforts of social health professionals. This paper introduces a novel approach to mitigating stigma through the application of Environmental Virtue Ethics (EVE), which emphasizes virtues such as compassion, openness, patience, and solidarity. EVE offers a framework for cultivating inclusive and supportive communities by drawing parallels between environmental ethics and the treatment of individuals with mental illness. By fostering environmental virtues, this approach suggests that stigma can be alleviated, thereby enhancing mental health recovery through sustainable networks that promote acceptance and trust. The article examines the definitions and applications of environmental virtues within social ethics, providing a comprehensive perspective on mitigating the stigma associated with mental illness. By deepening social workers' understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by individuals with mental illness, this approach aims to foster more supportive interactions and build solidarity. The study highlights the importance of instilling a sense of responsibility and responsiveness among social workers to navigate professional dilemmas and maintain consistent flexibility in their efforts. The findings advocate for the development of policies and practices that facilitate the integration of vulnerable individuals, fostering a sense of belonging and an improved quality of life. This integrated approach seeks to transform societal perceptions and reduce the stigma related to mental illness through practical and innovative solutions.
