Return migration is one of the most significant social sub-process regarding the economical crisis. There is no question that, in Romania, the migrant workers who pass across national borders, subsequently return to their country of origin with benefits such as experience and improved skills. The purpose of this research is to provide an analyse of migrants’ savings and remittance behavior. However, remittances sent to finance origin country investments are positively associated with origin household wealth. Insofar a crucial issue is the affective development of migrants’ children. The attention is focused on fact that some of those who return, specially in rural environment, can appear as actors of change in communities of origin. The debate on migration and development in Romania has swung forth and back, from optimism to pesimism because this process shows very different aspects.
