Aspecte privind integrarea femeilor cu o formă de protecţie pe piaţa forţei de muncă din România [Aspects Concerning the Integration of Women Granted a form of Protection on the Romanian Labor Market]

This paper examines one of the integration dimensions, the economical one, concerning the women granted a form of protection in Romania. Highlight is put on the relevant factors such as education level and professional experience, role of family and informal group/same ethnic community, cultural patterns etc. and their influence on the women’s decision to access the labor market. The second aspect we focus on is the NGO’s support in facilitating the access of the refugee women to labor market. The findings are based on interviews with women granted a form of protection in Romania and with NGO employees, conducted between September 2008 and February 2009. Before pointing out the conclusions of the study, we briefly describe and analyze the situation of persons granted a form of protection in Romania (refugees, persons with subsidiary protection) and their employment in terms of policy context, opportunities and barriers.
